The Pope

April 25th, 2005 No comments

Well, it can not be said that my predictions are getting worse. I got president Bush’s victory spot on long before the crowd and in detail. For over five years I have predicted “Benedict” Ratzinger becoming pope. How about the second part of that prediction: Will he be the last catholic pope?

Almost certainly yes. If the lies, theft and magic at the heart of Catholicism do not kill it in the next few years, the child molestation scandals all over it will. A friend of mine who is Irish told me that for the last fifty years every priest in Ireland accused of molesting kids has seen the case hushed-up of paid off before being shipped out to America. Is it any wonder the Church there is bankrupt as a result of the huge number of cases? And how long before the Vatican itself is subject to a class action suit in the states?

Of course the Latin American, European and African churches will not have been without fault in this regard also. The holy shit has barely started hitting the holy fan in regard to this issue.

The BBC and Papal Barrell Scrapings

April 8th, 2005 No comments

The BBC, like most media organisations, has been covering the death of the Pope and arrangements for his funeral in close detail. All week they have been scraping the bottom of the barrell for anything with a Popish connection. On Wednesday it was the man who “met” the Pope when he visited the UK. Upon interview it turned out that this very special meeting consisted of this fellow and his wife standing alone on a bit of road the Pope passed in his Pope-Mobile. The man waved at them as he passed.

This morning’s collection of barrell scrapings has included the family whose visit to Rome is particularly special because they were there once before, “met” the Pope (they were among thousands in an audience hall) and the mother has died since that visit so can’t be with them. I think these circumstances must be unique amongst Catholics.

One bit of news I can thank the Beeb for this morning is confirmation that Joseph Ratzinger will conduct the funeral of the Pope.

Popes and Predictions

April 7th, 2005 No comments

So the heir to paul is dead and “Christs” church thrown into chaos. “Who will be the next Pope?”, many are asking. For the last seven or eight years I have been making two predictions about this issue: Firstly the next Pope will be Cardinal Ratzinger. Ratzinger is prefect of the “Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith”, aka the Office of the Inquisition. He is an administrative genius by all accounts and interestingly the need for an administrator has been promoted in the last few days.

The other prediction is that Ratzinger will be the last Pope. The Catholic Church, built on lies, magic and theft, is going to collapse completely before too long. In the age we live in the truth will out. Some Catholic Nuns I know are convinced of this second prediction. But then, they are really Catholic in name alone, having placed a Buddha next to Christ on their alter, replaced services with twice daily meditation and written a new definition of “a Church”: a Church is any group of people who meditate regularly together.

So, Pope Ratzinger the last. Watch this space.
