Want to learn to meditate? – It’s simple.

September 6th, 2010 No comments

It really is so simple and yet so profound most people don’t get it – often even meditators or Buddhists of long standing just don’t get it. But it is simple, so very, very simple.

Head on over to the forums at http://www.vipassanaforum.net/ and sign up. You will learn a simple non-sectarian, scientifically backed meditation technique (with no bells and whistles) and get it in a short time.

If you have ever thought about meditating, you’ve wasted you’re time 😀 …. so get on your butt and do it instead.

Child Rapists and “Civil Society”.

February 13th, 2010 No comments
From The UK Column:
by Robert Green

In the October 2009 print edition of the UK Column, we reported in our article, “BBC Hides Truth of Girl’s Sexual Abuse Ordeal” the shocking ordeal of Downs Syndrome girl, Hollie Greig, who was horribly abused by an Aberdeen paedophile ring, over a period of ten years. After investigating and planning a documentary, the BBC abruptly dropped the case, despite admitting that Hollie was a reliable and accurate witness. It is important to stress that both the police and qualified medical experts have described Hollie as a competent and entirely honest witness.

…..

Recently a policeman personally told the UK Column that police had themselves experienced their own paedopile investigations suddenly being dropped by senior police officers. He added “If you want to really get to the paedophiles you should look at Westminster”. The implications of this statement are frightening – a paedophile ring amongst our political leaders – the political elite which has control of education and Social Services? The general public needs to open its eyes and confront this evil – and fast.

The fact is we are not civilised. We do not live in a Civil Society. Not when Paedophile rings rule every level of society.

Do We Create Our Own Reality With Our Thoughts?

November 13th, 2009 No comments

Do we create our own reality with our thoughts? … Yes … and no …

When we habitually think in circles those circles become entrenched patterns embedded in our neurology and brain chemistry. In this way they become reinforced and self fulfilling prophecies. Often we are unaware of this happening. Even a momentary impulse to get ice cream creates our reality, however, for that impulse may lead to reality involving us eating ice cream. In this way we do create our own reality. Ice cream is a trivial example of course – this is equally true not only for deserts, but main courses, marriages, job decisions and the whole glamut of “choices” we make.

However, we are also on a big rock flying round the sun very fast and the whole solar system is flying round the galaxy even faster .. and I know that no subconscious process of mine can make that shit happen … so in this sense there is no way “I” am creating reality with my thoughts. (note “I” is a thought just as much as any linguistic object).

We also have to bear in mind that other people are creating reality too. If a car drives into you when you are standing on a street corner it is unlikely you made it happen. More often it was that last beer the driver had that created that reality.

Although if you were on the way to buy ice cream then you played a part too of course 😉

The way to creating a healthy reality was taught by the Buddha some 2,500 years ago and by Christ and many others since. There are people today teaching these noble truths and the path to their attainment. It’s a D.I.Y thing – you can’t read your way to peace. Yet you can get there quite easily if you cross the bridge.

STOP CHILD ABUSE NOW RALLY: AGENDA FOR THE END OF DENIAL

September 26th, 2009 No comments

Today from 1pm In London an annual rally and march will take place combining the forces of Survivors of abuse and Child action groups. The biggest two problems in this area are “traumatic forgetting” which make accurate statistics difficult and the utterly dominant force of denial in society – which stands as a force against real change. To end denial we must achieve:

  • RECOGNITION OF PREVELANCE OF ABUSE: 30 – 40% of ADULTS ABUSED AS CHILDREN. THE COST TO SOCIETY IS IN WASTED LIVES AND BILLIONS OF POUNDS.
  • RECOGNITION THAT ABUSE OCCURS MAINLY IN THE HOME AND WITH TRUSTED CARERS.
  • END “STRANGER DANGER” CAMPAIGNS/DENIAL – THE DANGER IS RARELY FROM STRANGERS YET MILLIONS ARE WASTED ON THESE CAMPAIGNS.
  • END DEMONISATION OF THE INTERNET – THE INTERNET HAS DONE MORE GOOD FOR ADULT SURVIVORS THAN GOVERNMENT HAS – IT HAS PROVIDED US SHARED RESOURCES AND SUPPORT AND ALLOWED US TO BECOME CONNECTED – AND THEREFORE A FORCE FOR CHANGE.
  • RECOGNITION THAT ABUSE IS BOTH PSYCHOLOGICALLY AND PHYSICALLY DAMAGING – THE PHYSICAL CONSEQUENCES ARE UNDER RESEARCHED AND DENIED. SOMATISATION DISORDERS DO NOT EXIST – UNTREATED INJURIES SUSTAINED IN CHILDHOOD RAPE AND BATTERY CAUSE REAL PHYSICAL DAMAGE WHICH REMAINS UNTREATED – WHILST UNDER-EDUCATED DOCTORS BLINDLY BLAME THE PATIENTS “PSYCHOLOGY”.
  • MORE RESEARCH INTO CYCLES OF ABUSE AND EARLY INTERVENTION IN PROBLEM FAMILIES.
  • A NATIONWIDE ENQUIRY INTO ORGANISED PAEDOPHILIA AND THE LINKS WITH FREEMASONRY AND THE JUSTICE SYSTEM: THIS SEEMS TO BE WHY MANY ABUSERS DO NOT GET PUNISHED.

Research indicates the majority of prostitutes, prisoners and hard drug addicts were abused as children – yet we demonise and ostracise these victims, imprison them and criminalise them – because they are trying to cope with horrors in their minds with no effective understanding of the aetiology of their problems and no effective treatment regime that deals with addiction behaviours and the underlying psychological distress.

We are not civilised.
