      Terrorising the Public

Terror Laws to go further - from the BBC

The continual increase in noise about terrorism coming from Tony Blair’s Government certainly helps keep the public fearful and pliable. Whether it is based on any real information regarding the threat to the UK we will not know. Hidden behind the idea that secrecy keeps us safe, demons are perhaps being invented and waved before our eyes, by a small and small-minded group who see the world in very black and white terms. David Blunket’s latest proposals continue the assualt on basic doctrines built up over many years and basic rights which were hard fought for. If we win these battles against terrorism, are we in danger of losing the war?
